If you’ve been to any of the previous 24-Hour events, you know you’re gonna wanna be there.
If you HAVEN’T yet, here’s why you should:

THE 24-HOUR COMIC CHALLENGE:
Can you write and draw a 24-page comic all by yourself in 24 hours? Many have tried; some have succeeded. Give it a shot — what’s the worst that can happen (aside from sleep deprivation, dizziness, headaches, cramping, hallucinations, extreme paranoia, paralysis, temporary blindness, and possible death) ?

THE DEALS:
50% OFF EVERYTHING IN THE STORE (excluding new-this-month items; sorry, jerks).
If you’re not so good at math, that means HALF OFF.
This is huge.
There will also be door prizes, raffles, giveaways, Silent Auctions, and FREE COMICS!!

THE WARM-UP:
COFFEE CHALLENGE!!! This is a 24HCD tradition, and if I’m keeping track right, I don’t believe there’s ever been one where someone DIDN’T vomit. (I guess that’s a selling point?)

THE MAIN EVENT:
JELLO WRESTLING!!!!!!! That’s right, sports fans, this will be the grudge match to end all grudge matches: NICK “MAN-MOUNTAIN” WASKIE versus ASHLEY “THE BEAST FROM THE EAST”, um, EAST!!! (yeah, that’s her last name.) This will be a No-Holds-Barred match — and I hate ta tell Waskie, but I think Ashole just got in those brass knuckles she bought off the internets…

As you can imagine, as the night goes on, thing will only get crazier — I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to put the WHEEL OF CHALLENGES to good (or evil) use… who knows, we might have some Acey-Deucey, we might have some Jim Plagman — shit, we just might have BOTH AT THE SAME TIME!!!!

THE BOTTOM LINE:
This is a time not to be missed by fans of comics or FUN in general!
…or fans of ridiculous shit, insomnia, puke, Poison Donuts… . .

Begins Saturday at NOON and runs all the way until noon on SUNDAY!

Lastly, let’s mention that that day also kicks off our annual HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST! It runs from Saturday the 18th all the way until Halloween night, the 31st — come dressed up any time during that period and get MORE FREE COMICS and chances to win Gift Certificate Prizes for the following categories:
Most Original; Best Kids Costume; Most Scarifying; Best Comic-Related; Worst Costume; and Best Overall!

Just wanted ta let everyone know that the new shipment for this week is delayed until THURSDAY, SEPT. 4 due to the Labor Day “holiday”. Seriously, how is it that Diamond Comic Distributors keeps closing on all these lame holi-wannabes? What’s next, they shut down the works for Secretary’s Day, or National Take A Crap In Your Pants Day?? (well, I suppose that one would be justified… )

But anyway, stuff’ll be in bright an’ early on Wednesday — come in then, there’s still some pie left!

DARK TOWER & MIDNIGHT BBQ!!!

That’s right, Marvel Comics is kicking out a follow-up to Stephen King’s DARK TOWER series, and they’re trying to create a little excitement with a midnight release for the first issue. Naturally (since we love to do dumb stuff) the time seems perfect for another MIDNIGHT BARBECUE!!!

We’ll be open from 12 Midnight until 2 am — so it’s Tuesday night of March 4th, or Wednesday morning of the 5th, depending on how technical ya wanna get.

My personal favorite part will be taking frozen burgers, grilling them well done, and then having them turn frozen again within seconds by the treacherous cold… you just can’t fool Mother Nature!

So I guess some spambots found an exploit in our old blog software and made this happen:

Which is annoying, because we don’t want to harm your computer. Just the opposite, really.

As a quick fix, I set up a Comic Madness blog group on Tumblr. Not having to maintain the blogging software ourselves should probably keep the spambots out. If you want to read any of the past two years worth of posts (now stripped of all malicious JavaScript), you can do so here.
